KATHMANDU, MAY 29
Everest Summiteers Association is organising a symbolic event to commemorate Everest Day on May 29 - the day Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers to set foot on the summit of the world's highest peak in 1953.
The Association has announced that the programme to mark the day will be held with limited participants owing to the ongoing second wave of pandemic.
Participants will light candles in the premises of the renowned Everest summitteer Late Babuchhiri Sherpa's statue and museum in Tilganga, Gaushala following safety protocols.
On the occasion, the ESA extended its best wishes to all the Everest summiteers and to all the others that have contributed to marking the Everest day a success.
