KALAIYA: A former Village Development Committee (VDC) chairman in Bara was arrested in Bara district on Tuesday on charge of murder.

The suspect identified as Mahabir Kanu was the chairman of Dewapur Teta VDC. He is accused of murdering one Biltu, 30, of Dewapur Teta-6.

Kanu is also accused of sexual assault on a single woman around 10 years ago.
