SANKHUWASABHA: A family has chased away a bride for not bringing enough dowry and expenses for her studies. Victim Ambika, 18, of Dhupu-4 lamented, "My husband and other family members thrashed me and chased me away from the house accusing me of not bringing enough dowry.' Ambika, whose maternal house is in Hangpang-2 in Bhojpur district, had given birth to a dead baby 16 days ago.

They have threatened that they would kill me if I returned home, said the victim who is a 12th grader at Janajyoti Higher Secondary School.

Meanwhile, Rohini Adhikari, her teacher, suggested her to go to the police.

Ambika has arrived at the district headquarters seeking legal solution for her pains.

The victim has lodged complaint with the District Police Office. DSP Poshraj Pokharel informed that the police would settle the dispute and provide justice to the victim. However, her husband Keshab claimed that they had some minor family dispute.
