Bajura man held with 3.7 kg opium in Kailali

DHANGADHI: A man has been arrested in possession of 3.7 kg crude opium from Kailali district of far-western Nepal on Sunday.

The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Birsha Karki, who hails from Rugin of Bajura district, according to SP Arjun Chand at the Kailali District Police Office.

Karki was apprehended from Muda Bazar area of Kota Tulsipur VDC after discovery of the contraband in his bag during a security check.

He has been detained at the Sukkhad-based Area Police Office for further investigation.

It is believed that the opium was produced in Nepal.
