DHADING: A man and his daughter were killed in a fire that broke out inside their house at Gumdi VDC-5 of northern Dhading on Wednesday night.

According to DSP Sabin Pradhan, the deceased have been identified as Sher Bahadur Gurung (48) and his 15-year-old daughter Dhanamaya Gurung.

Police further said, the flame that killed them started from a small fire lit inside the house to keep them warm during the night.

The Gurung family's house was damaged during the April earthquake.

Sher Bahadur had managed to come out of the house after the fire broke out but died in his failed attempt to save his daughter. However, Sher Bahadur's wife managed to escape unhurt.
