PANCHTHAR: A man died and his two children sustained critical injuries in a khukuri attack at Phidim-2 in Panchthar district in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, the deceased has been identified as Devraj Tumbapo (49)

Police said that Tumbapo breathed his last while being rushed to Dharan for treatment..

Tumbapo's daughter Sabitra (26) and son Aaindra (19) were critically injured in the attack.

Police said that Manoj Tumbahamphe (19) of Odin had attacked the trio with a khukuri over a minor dispute today.

The injured have been taken to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.

Tumbahamphe fled the scene after the incident, said police.
