SIRAHA, MAY 22
A father and son were hacked to death, while asleep, in Arnarma Rural Municipality-1 of Siraha on Saturday night.
Chandeshwor Pal (60) and his son Santa Kumar Pal (19) were attacked in their beds with a sharp weapon, according to police.
Santa Kumar was getting married on May 25.
The two had gone to their bedrooms at midnight after the locals had finished the wedding song rituals.
They were found dead at around 3:00am.
The neighbor's child, who was asleep alongside Santa Kumar at the time, discovered the incident and alerted the rest of the family and the locals.
Santa Kumar had been working in a hardware shop in Mahanaur Bazaar.
A team of police had reached the scene at around 4:00 am and sealed it off for further investigation.
The details of the incident would have to wait for the time being, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subas Dhakal, information officer at the Siraha District Police Office.
Meanwhile, police team at the site is using trained dog for the investigation.
