SIRAHA, MAY 22
An unidentified group killed a man and his son with sharp domestic weapons in Arnama Rural Municipality, Siraha, last night.
Police said Chandreshwor Pal, 60, and his son Santa Kumar Pal, 19, were murdered while they were asleep at Mahanaur in their house last night. Locals said the women gathered at the house and sang songs as Santa's marriage was fixed for May 25. The women slept at midnight while Chandreshwor and Santa were killed at 2:00am this morning.Locals said that they enjoyed till midnight, but the incident took place at around 2:00am.
The father and son slept in separate rooms and they were killed with a sharp weapon. Santa's father had slept alone while Santa slept with a 10 to 12-yearold minor. The minor informed the family members and villagers about the incident the same night. Villagers said that Santa was honest, hardworking and had good respect in the locality and he used to run a hardware shop at Mahanaur Bazaar.
Meanwhile, a police team reached the incident site at 4:00am and sealed the crime spot and started investigation.
DSP Subas Dhakal at District Police Office, Siraha, said the police could not say anything about the incident before the investigation.
