Feasibility study for high altitude sports training centre in Jumla

JUMLA: Feasibility study has begun for the construction of a high altitude sports training centre at Lauthchaur of Chhumchaur — highest altitude rice cultivation location in the world — in Jumla district.

A team led by Mahesh Dahal, Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), arrived in Jumla on Sunday for the feasibility study for the construction of the training centre cum sports stadium at Lauthchaur.

The team is said to start the feasibility study from today itself, according to Kabi Dutta Neupane, Chief at the District Sports Development Committee Office, Jumla.

The study team has proposed naming the training centre as 'Karnali High Altitude Training Centre' and the stadium to be constructed at Ranjhasima as 'Karnali Stadium'.

The construction of these facilities is expected to contribute to the development of sports in Karnali region.
