Few people controlling economy: Bhattarai

Pokhara, May 19

Naya Shakti Party-Nepal Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai today argued that only a handful of people were controlling the country’s economy.

Speaking at a press meet organised in Pokhara of Kaski today, NSP-N Coordinator Bhattarai said the economy of the country could not take the necessary leap as it was controlled by a handful of people. “Development and prosperity are not possible with a traditional mindset,” he said.

Stating that  prosperity of the country is not possible without ending corruption and all kinds of syndicates, Bhattarai  said unification of the two major communist forces CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre had built the foundation of political stability in the country. “Other democratic forces should also unite and transform themselves,” he said.

He also said that he wanted development to go along with social transformation.
