Final rites after 91 years

Kavre, July 20

A family in Kavre’s Namobuddha Municipality has started the final rites of one of their family members, 91 years after he went missing.

Nandikeshari Adhikari of Adhikarithok in Namobuddha-8 had left home 91 years ago.

His kin carried out symbolic final rites of the man on Tuesday by making a dummy of the body out of kush (consecrated dried grass which is used for religious purpose in Hindu tradition).

Nandikesar’s brother’s grandchild Kumar Adhikari has been observing the 13- day mourning from Tuesday for his grandfather, long missing and so believed to be dead.
