Fire guts property worth Rs 500,000 in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Separate incidents of fire gutted properties worth around half a million rupees in Saptari district on Friday night.

According to police, a cowshed in Jolhari of Rajbiraj Municipality-9, belonging to a resident Bal Govinda Yadav, caught fire destroying two bundles of straw, wheat, two quintals of black mustard seeds and a pumping set. The property destroyed in the fire have been estimated at around Rs 200,000.

In another incident of fire at Rampura Malhaniya in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-14, property valued at Rs 300,000 were gutted. According to Area Police Office, Hanumannagar, the incident that took place at a wheat thresher belonging to a local resident Sonai Mahji, gutted 14 quintals of wheat, two quintals of black mustard seeds and furniture.

The fire, in both cases, were taken under control with the help of fire engines dispatched from Rajbiraj, police and local residents.
