MORANG: Property worth around Rs 250,000 was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at the cowshed of Jayamangal Khatiwada at Pathari Sanischare-8 in Morang on Monday.

According to police, the fire ignited from the traditional oil lamps lit nearby Khatiwada's cowshed.

The incident occurred at around 2 am.

Police informed that two cows and six goats were also killed in the fire.

Khatiwada's wife Lokmaya sustained injuries while trying to douse the fire.

The fire was taken under control with the help of locals and police personnel backed by a fire engine.
