MORANG:  Property worth around Rs 850,000 was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at a house in Musarbhatti village of Govindapur-1, Morang district in the wee hours of Thursday.

The fire that started from the kitchen of Ratna Bahadur Basnet at around 2 am gutted Rs 100,000 in cash, food grain, clothes and seven goats, according to the Area Police Office, Sijuwa.

The fire was later taken under control with the help of locals and police personnel backed by a fire engine after 50 minutes.
