Fire made to drive away mosquitoes breaks out in Rautahat

GAUR: Police on Thursday said a fire made to drive away mosquitoes broke out and destroyed property worth around Rs 200,000 while family members were asleep in Dipahi of Madhav Narayan Rural Municipality-4 in Rautahat district this morning.

The District Police Office said two thatched houses, four goats, buffaloes, foodstuffs and Rs 50,000 cash were reduced to cinders.

The fire broke out in the wee hours when Upendra Hajara's family members were asleep. However, no human casualty was reported in the incident.

Hajra informed that the goats, food grains and items brought for his son's marriage were also gutted in the fire.

Meanwhile, locals had rescued the family members and prevented further damage from the accident.
