At least 200 people are rendered homeless when a fire destroyed at least 45 houses in Bijulipur Gaun of Satbariya VDC-7 located at Deukhuri valley of Dang district yesterday afternoon. Locals said the fire began from one Jogiram Chaudhari’s house and gulfed the whole village. “We sent an informer to relay the message of fire break out to the Lamahi based security forces,” said Mohan Giri, member of CPN-UML district committee, adding, a fire engine came from Lamahi but could not contain the fire and another fire engine from Tribhuvan Nagar also came. Talking with a team of journalists from FNJ, Dang unit, who had reached the spot, the villagers complained that no one from the local administration had visited the site. Meanwhile, president of Dang FNJ, KB Mashal and secretary Sudarshan Rijal in a release today have asked the local authority to immediately provide relief materials to the fire victims.
