First day of SLC exam peaceful

KATHMANDU; The first day of the School Leaving Certificate examination held across the country today was largely peaceful.

According to Chitra Prasad Devkota, controller, Office of the Controller of Examinations, some examinees and invigilators had to be acted upon outside Kathmandu valley in order to maintain order in the school-end exam. According to him, the whole exam had been cancelled for eight students and today’s exam for three students in Rautahat district.

Invigilator Bipin Pande was barred from performing his duties for his involvement in “irregularities.”

In Dhanusha of Janakpur, action was taken against another invigilator while three fake examinees were held in Saptari.

According to the Lalitpur District Education Officer (DEO) Keshab Prasad Dahal, the exam was held in a peaceful manner in the district. Kathmandu DEO Gyani Yadav said there were no reports of irregularities in exam centres throughout the district. “We did not find anything objectionable.” he added.
