At least five crusher industries operated in Bara have been closed as per the directive of the home ministry.
A joint monitoring team deployed from District Administration Office and District Coordination Committee, Bara, closed the industries as they were found to be operating illegally for a long time in the district.
Assistant Chief District Officer Krishna Acharya said power supply to the industries had been cut and supply of materials from the industries was banned. He said that the industries had not renewed licence for a long time. He added that the supply of sand and boulders, among other materials from the industries, was banned.
Acharya said that Jayamatadi Sand Processing Centre in Kalaiya sub-metropolis, Lal Bakaiya Sand Processing Centre and Crusher Industry of Nijgadh Municipality were sealed. Similarly, Balganga Sand Processing Centre, Jayamatadi Processing Centre of Jitpursimara sub-metropolis, and Nepal Crusher Industry were also closed.
The industries were inspected as per the direction from the home ministry.
Acharya said that the industries were closed after they could not produce documents during inspection. He added that excavation, supply of sand and boulder, among other materials from the crusher industries in the district were banned until further notice.
