Sima Chaudhari of Kalaiya sub-metropolis has been deployed as an election officer at Lamidanda-based Balbalika Basic School in Simarajitpur sub-metropolis, Bara, for the elections being held tomorrow.
Chaudhari has got the responsibility of election officer for the first time. She said that she would help conduct the elections successfully.
"I have taken this responsibility with courage despite a little bit of fear as it is the first time I have been entrusted with such responsibility," she said. Chaudhari said she was excited too. "We have completed all the preparations and are waiting for tomorrow to start the voting process from 7:00am," she said. Chaudhari added that the November 20 elections would be completed peacefully as political parties, security personnel and locals, among other stakeholders, are extending support.
Similarly, all the female staffers, including female election officers, have been deployed at Namuna Basic Secondary School of Kalaiya sub-metropolis-1. A team led by Section Officer Sapana Thapa of District Court, Bara, will hold the elections there.
Chief at District Election Office Saroj Chaudhari said that female staffers of government offices and female teachers of different schools have been deployed as election officers. He said only ten per cent female officers were deployed for the November 20 elections. Voters will cast the ballots from 555 polling stations of 305 voting centres in Bara. Of the 555 election officers deployed in Bara, 56 are female officers in the district.
Earlier, only five per cent women from Bara were deployed as election officers in the parliamentary and provincial assembly elections.
