RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 11
Five people were injured when a Scorpio SUV and a cargo truck collided near Chandi Bridge along the East-West Highway in Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, on Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at 8:20 AM, when a Scorpio (Na. 4 Cha 3694) heading from Chandrapur to Sarlahi collided with an oncoming cargo truck (Ba. Pra. 01-006 Kha 5729) near Chandi Bridge in Chandrapur Municipality-5, injuring scorpio driver and four passengers.
According to the District Traffic Office, Chandrapur, among the five injured, Santosh Kushwaha (28) from Simraungadh Municipality-7, Bara, sustained serious head and forehead injuries.
The other injured individuals include Sudip Kumar Yadav (20), from Moulapur Municipality-3; Prashant Thakur (18), from Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-5; Ram Vinod Mahato (21), the Scorpio driver from Matiarwa in Baudhimai Municipality-3; and Pradeep Kushwaha (18), from Baudhimai Municipality-2, all in Rautahat district.

All five sustained injuries to the head, forehead, hands, and eyes, but are currently out of danger, are receiving treatment at Chandrapur Hospital Pvt. Ltd.
Meanwhile, Santosh Kushwaha, who was critically injured, is also being treated at the same hospital, and his condition remains stable, according to the Area Police Office, Chandrapur.
The truck driver, Phuri Tamang (28), from Jiri Municipality-4, Dolakha, has been taken into police custody along with both vehicles. The Area Police Office, Chandrapur, has initiated further investigations into the accident.
