DHANKUTA: As many as five people were injured after lightning struck them at Dandabazaar-7 of the district on Saturday.

The injured have been identified as Mohan Khapangi, Bharat Kumari Bajagain, Sharmila Limbu, Kopila Bishwakarma and Asim Bishwakarma of the same place, police said.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, police added.

Similarly, the lightning destroyed a poultry farm in the area causing loss of about 500,000 rupees.
