Five killed in Dailekh jeep accident
DULLU: Five persons have lost their lives in a jeep accident that occurred near Pipal Chautara, Dhamigaun of Thatikandh Rural Municipality in Dailekh district today.
Eight people were travelling on the jeep (Bhe 1 Cha 2207) en route to Bahankot of Thatikandh from Surkhet.
Three people were killed on the spot. They have been identified as Rajendra Bahadur Shahi (47), the jeep driver Ramesh Shahi, and Nirmal Bam (30) of Thatikandh Rural Municipality. Shahi is the ward president of Nepali Congress party.
Two others died on the way to Surkhet for treatment. They have been identified as Ratna Shahi and Samsher Bom (28), also of the same rural municipality.
Meanwhile, Yiddha Suchi (30) Dilip Shahi and Manish Raskoti (28) have been seriously injured in the mishap. They have been taken to Surkhet for treatment.
The incident occurred when the jeep veered off the road and fell some 300 metres below, police said.
