KATHMANDU, MAY 12
At least five people have died in separate road accidents reported from different parts of the country, including Kathmandu, police said.
According to the Central Police News Room, 43-year-old pedestrian Bhuvan Gurung of Siddhicharan Municipality-9, Okhaldhunga, died after being hit by a motorcycle at Koteshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, on Monday night. Seriously injured, he succumbed during treatment at the National Trauma Centre this morning.
In Mahottari, 25-year-old motorcyclist Suvesh Kumar Yadav of Navarajpur-3 died after his motorcycle met with an accident near Thakurpokhari in Gausala Municipality-4 last night. He died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Similarly, 18-year-old Uttam Sardar of Kanchanrup Municipality-5, Saptari, died when a bus collided with a tractor at Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Sunsari, this morning. He was travelling on the tractor. Both drivers have been taken into custody.
In Rautahat, 22-year-old Surendra Paswan of Paroha Municipality-3 died after two motorcycles collided at Paroha-6 last night. He died during treatment at Provincial Hospital, Gaur. Another injured is undergoing treatment in Birgunj, while one has been referred to Chitwan.
In a separate incident in Rautahat, 38-year-old Rinkudevi Thakur of Vijaypur Municipality-5 died after falling from a moving motorcycle at Kathariya Municipality-4. She died on the way to hospital.
Police said investigations into the accidents are underway.
