CHITWAN, JUNE 17
CPN-MC Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the five-party coalition will remain until the peace process reaches its conclusion. Speaking at an interaction organised by Bharatpur Metropolitan City today, the CPN-MC chief observed the five-party coalition will last beyond the elections.
"Beyond the provincial and parliamentary elections, the current coalition among our parties will continue to be there until the peace process is concluded successfully and the country is set robustly on the path of development," Dahal, chairperson of one of the constituent parties of the coalition, said.
The leader also claimed that there was no force left now powerful enough to push the country backwards. "The threat of the regressive force bent on subverting the constitution and democracy has been defeated. But we still have challenges and problems facing us, and I'm happy to declare that the present coalition is heading to solve and overcome these problems and challenges," he said.
On a different note, Dahal claimed that State Partnership Programme was initiated during the tenure of former prime minister KP Sharma Oli. "I urge you all not to be taken in by fake nationalism but be true patriotic," he said.
The CPN-MC chair also pledged initiatives to upgrade Chitwan's Bharatpur Hospital into a teaching hospital. "The plan of upgrading the hospital into a teaching hospital didn't figure in this budget, it's true, also because I couldn't attend to this matter much on time. As soon as I return to the capital, I'll raise the matter at a meeting with the prime minister," he said.
Energy, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Pampha Bhushal, Bagmati Province Chief Minister Rajendra Pande, National Planning Commission Vice-chairperson Bishwo Poudel, Bagmati Province's Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Milanbabu Shrestha, among many other political leaders and bureaucrats were present on the occasion today.
