KATHMANDU, AUGUST 17

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said the five-party coalition will continue for maintenance of stability and development of the country.

At a programme organised by the Krishna Prasad Bhattarai Foundation here today to congratulate the people's representatives elected in the May 13 local level election, Minister Karki further said the current coalition would continue up to the upcoming November 20 provincial and federal level elections to build a prosperous Nepal.

Minister Karki, also the spokesperson of the government, said, "We are planning to create jobs in the country for youths by capitalising on the potential in hydro resources, tourism and agriculture, among others and to develop Nepal as a prosperous country within a decade."

Minister Karki urged the newly-elected people's representatives to work in a result-oriented manner and address the grievances of the people.

"People's representatives should fulfil the commitments made to the public. Nobody can be elected as people's representatives until s/he wins the heart of the public. I urge you all to pay attention to expedite service delivery by prioritising the agendas in the midst of resource constraints."

Stating that the development of communication, information and technology had turned the world into a village, he underscored the need of optimum utilisation of technology for development of the country.

The foundation's chairperson and National Assembly parliamentarian Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi said that a plan was afoot to establish a school in memory of late Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai in Biratnagar, Morang.
