Five persons killed in separate incidents in Siraha

Siraha, July 24

At least five persons died in separate incidents in Siraha yesterday.

Of them, three died after they were struck by lightning, one was electrocuted and one more died in house collapse.

Bijuli Mahara, 22, of Arnama Rural Municipality died after she was electrocuted yesterday. Police said that Nagma Khatun, 40, of Wanpur Rural Municipality died after she received electric shock while working in the field.

Similarly, Ram Bilas Thakur, 77, of Nawarajpur Rural Municipality was injured after lightning struck him while he was working in the field. Police said that he was receiving treatment in the Lahan-based private health facility. His condition is said to be normal, said police.

Kushma Khatun, 55, of Dhangadhimai Municipality died and three others were injured after the house belonging to Khatun collapsed yesterday. The injured are receiving treatment in a local health facility.

Likewise, Bindeshwor Sah, 55, of Siraha Municipality was electrocuted while he was switching off a water pump motor. She was immediately rushed to hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
