KATHMANDU, MARCH 25

Flights at Taksar Airport in Bhojpur Municipality-12 have resumed after a three-month suspension.

The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), restarted its operations at Bhojpur's sole airport on Tuesday, confirmed Prakash Khadka, NAC Bhojpur Station Chief. The airline has also announced a revised flight schedule for the route.

The suspension was due to necessary repairs on its Twin Otter aircraft. Currently, the district relies solely on NAC, which has been operating flights to Bhojpur since 2035 BS (1978 AD). The airport features a 545-meter-long and 20-meter-wide runway.

The temporary halt in service had caused severe inconvenience, particularly for patients requiring emergency medical referrals, air travelers, and those with limited alternative transport options.

NAC operates two narrow-body aircraft for flights to Bhojpur.

One has been repaired and is back in operation, while the other remains under maintenance. The airline expects services to fully normalize once both aircraft become operational.
