KATHMANDU, JULY 5
Flooding and landslides triggered by recent rainfall have completely disrupted seven road sections across the country.
According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, roadways in Sankhuwasabha, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Dolpa, Rukum Paschim, Jajarkot, and Bajura districts have been entirely blocked due to rain-induced disasters.
Nepal Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General Binod Ghimire, stated that the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha district was obstructed following a flood in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality.
Similarly, the Banepa-Bhaktapur road section has been blocked by a landslide at Banepa Municipality-4 in Kavre district.
The Araniko Highway is also fully disrupted after a landslide at Kodari in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk.
Vehicular movement along the Bheri Corridor has come to a halt due to flooding at Chhalghat in Tripurasundari Municipality-1, Dolpa. Additionally, the Jajarkot-Dolpa section of the Bheri Corridor has been obstructed by flooding in Aathbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum Paschim.
A landslide in Chhedagad Municipality-3, Jajarkot, has blocked the Mid-Hill Highway, while another landslide at Bhasupatala in Badimalika Municipality-7, Bajura, has completely obstructed the Martadi-Kolti road section.
Meanwhile, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, Shahid Highway in Rolpa, and the Kaligandaki Corridor in Gulmi have reopened for one-way traffic after police cleared the landslide debris.
