FM Pradhan meets Ban Ki-moon

Kathmandu, October 3:

Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan met UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, on the sidelines of the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York yesterday. They exchanged views on political developments in Nepal. Pradhan apprised Ki-moon of Nepal government’s talks with the Maoists to ensure their participation in the government and the CA polls, and expressed the government’s commitment to holding the elections as scheduled.

They discussed the arrangement being made for the relocation of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Kathmandu.

Ki-moon hoped the CA polls would be held as scheduled. Pradhan also attended a luncheon hosted by chairperson of the Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi.
