Dipayal, December 4:

The Doti and Accham district chapters of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) have decided to boycott the chief of the Dipayal far western regional headquarters of the Nepal Army for being non-responsive to the Press.

Journalists in Doti said they have been trying since the past five days to ask NA western regional headquarters chief Anil Jung Thapa some questions of public interest but he is not responding.

Journalists have said the NA divisonal headquarters has been violating the code of conduct, ignoring irregularities and is recruiting new soldiers.

However, Thapa is not willing to give any information regarding this to the media, they said. The Doti-Accham chapters of the journalists’ body in a statement today said that Thapa had

insulted press freedom, a right guaranteed by the state.

The statement signed by the president of the Doti-Accham chapters of FNJ, Uddhav Singh Dhat urged political parties, civil society and concerned individuals to publicly boycott Thapa.
