FNJ row over money out in the open

Kathmandu, May 17:

Members of the Kathmandu chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists today locked horns and also locked up the FNJ office.

Members said that a programme was organized by president Yubraj Bidrohi and vice-president Kamal Gurung, without informing other executive members.

FNJ member Basanta Maharjan said Bidrohi’s stand on the king’s direct rule as well as undemocratic workings have already created disputes in the branch and they protested against all that and sought clarification.

“We do not know from where and how much money Bidrohi has brought but he has been using the money we had collected by playing Deusi,” he added. The FNJ central committee has called a meeting at its central office tomorrow to thrash out things.
