MAHENDRANAGAR, DHANUSHA: Satya Narayan Mandal has been elected the CPN-UML's parliamentary party (PP) leader for the Province 2.

In the voting held today, former Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal was elected to the post by securing 12 votes against his competitor Shatrudhan Mahato who obtained eight votes while one vote was invalid. The party had to go for a voting to choose the PP leader after unanimous selection was not possible.

The UML has 21 seats in the State Assembly of Province 2 comprising eight districts in the Tarai/Madhes .
