Four cops suspended in connection to Kedia kidnapping

KALAIYA: The Central Regional Police Office, Hetaunda, suspended four policemen - a head constable and three constables - in connection to the abduction of Birgunj-based industrialist Suresh Kedia last week.

Head Constable Tej Bahadur Dhakal and Constable trio Pramod Kumar Yadav, Wunil Mahato and Surendra Prasad Saha - currently deployed at the Police Post in Kabahi Goth of Bara - district were suspended.

They were suspended to look into how the jeep carrying Kedia was successful in escaping the police checking, according to the law enforcement officials.

Earlier, four personnel from the Armed Police Force were also arrested.

It has been learned that two teams under the command of APF AIG Krishna Kumar Tamang and Nepal Police AIG Kedar Saud are probing the case.

Kedia was abducted at gunpoint by an armed gang last Thursday, from Bariyarpur of Bara. He was rescued from Motihari of India on Sunday.
