Sindhulimadi, November 6

At least four persons died and seven others were injured after a Bolero Jeep met with an accident at Fikkal Rural Municipality in Sindhuli last night.

The deceased have been identified as Amar Bahadur Darlami, 40, Ram Prasad Baral, 40, Dip Bahadur Magar, 59 and Nar Bahadur Balampakhi, 60, of the rural municipality.

Police said the accident occurred when the jeep heading towards Fikkal from Khurkot fell 100 metres below the rough road. Police said Darlami, Magar and Baral died on the spot while Balampakhi took his last breath in the course of treatment in Khurkot-based Community Hospital.

One person, who was  in critical condition, has been taken to a Kathmandu-based health facility while six others are receiving treatment in Subhajiban Hospital, Khurkot.

Police said the bodies have been kept in Sindhuli Hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, police have taken the jeep driver under control and further investigation into the accident is under way, said police.
