Four held for faking documents to sell 44 ropani land
LAMJUNG: Four persons have been held on the charge of selling 44 ropani lands by creating fake documents in Lamjung. Lamjung District Court has ordered the authorities to bring them before the court for the investigation.
Those held have been identified as Kajiram Damai (48) of Danai village in Besisahar Municipality-3, Basanta Baral of Hospital tole in ward no 8 of the same municipality, Harimaya Gurung (37) of Purankot in ward no. 4 of the same municipality and Milan Gurung of Bakhrejagat in ward no 9 of the same municipality, informed Bhumi Prasad Sharma from the District Court.
Others involved in the case are Dipak Tamang (26) of Saavik Sigrey VDC-6, Nuwakot and Buddha Lama (26) of Sipali Chilaune VDC-1, Kavre who are at large, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal.
He added that Harimaya Gurung of Besisahar-4 and her five companions faked the documents of her grandmother Landlady Man Maya Gurung (81) for illegal transfer of ownership of the properties in several locations of Purankot. They had processed the documents through Besisahar Municipality-4 Ward Office.
It has been learned that the neighbor caught them illegally selling 32 ropani lands earlier after which the investigation had begun.
Harimaya Gurung had been married in the village and living with her grandmother, who had neither a husband nor a son. She had opened a local store and lamented over the lack of money to operate the shop after which her grandmother suggested she acquired a loan from the bank keeping the lands as collateral. Her mother’s elder sister had helped her acquire the loan, informed Manmaya’s nephew Brishraj Gurung, Chairman of Nepal Congress Area no 2.
He said, “ After coming to know that they were selling 32 ropani lands we immediately stopped the process at Malpot Office. But, later we learned that they had already gobbled up 44 ropani lands.”
