Four killed, two injured in Dolpa jeep fall
KATHMANDU: Four persons lost their life and two others were injured as a passenger jeep met with an accident in Dolpa district of mid-western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon.
The jeep that had left for Dunai, the district headquarters, from Bhitti of Thulo Bheri Municipality veered off the road and plunged some 150 metres down, causing casualties, according to an on-duty official at the District Police Office.
The incident reportedly took place after the jeep failed to go uphill, the Nepal Police said in its bulletin later.
All six people on board the jeep were critically injured in the incident, and were rushed to the District Hospital in Dunai.
Among them Lok Chandra Shahi, Buddha Singh Kathayat, Sonia Rokaya and Dharma Lal Budha succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment.
The injured--Keshar Acharya and Pancha Lal Budha -- are receiving treatment at the District Hospital in Dunai.
One of them is in critical condition, police said.
