Foxbite menace in Bajhang

Locals of Golai in Jayaprithvi Municipality are terrified after a significant number of people were bitten by foxes.

So far, 28 people have sustained injuries after being bitten by foxes that usually pounce on locals after dark, said local resident Narendra Khati.

On Sunday alone, more than 15 persons fell victim to fox bite.

Sushil Khati of Golai said that he and four others were attacked by a fox as they were returning home from district headquarters Chainpur in the evening.

Meanwhile, the newly elected chair of Ward No 4 of the municipality Gagan Khati was also bitten by a fox as he was returning home in the evening. Khati underwent treatment at the district hospital after sustaining injuries to his legs.

A Nepali Army personnel on duty at the barrack in Padesa also fell victim to fox bite. As a result, the locals are terrified to travel after dark, and have stopped venturing out alone, local Narendra Khati said.
