French national 'missing' in western Nepal
KATHMANDU: A French national has reportedly gone missing from in or around Pokhara of western Nepal on August 7.
Mélanie Guérin (around 35), who had taken the Nepali name of Tara during her Nepal sojourn, was reportedly last seen at a point along the Siddhartha Highway, which connects Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, to Nepal's tourism capital, Pokhara.
On August 6, she was reported to be around Lumbni region.
Her belongings including passport, identity card and clothes were found at a point along the Highway. Her phone, however, is missing and police are searching for it to locate her along with the help of sniffer dogs.
Guérin was scheduled to fly to France from the Tribhuvan International Airport on August 11.
Kith and kin of Guérin, through social media posts, have requested concerned members of the public for help to find her as soon as possible.
She is 160 cm tall, has a pierced nose and tattoos on her body.
