KATHMANDU: The National Seismological Centre has recorded an earthquake of local magnitude 4.0 in Bajura district at 12:56 am this morning.

According to the NSC records, the earthquake had its epicentre near Bichhiya of the district (29.71 ºN and 81. 57 ºE).

The earthquake was a fresh one and not the aftershock of Gorkha earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015, the NSC informed.

Before this, an earthquake of 4.0 magnitude was also recorded in Bajura on November 6, 2016.
