Fresh earthquake in Darchula, light aftershock in Sindhupalchok
KATHMANDU: A light earthquake of local magnitude 4.6 was recorded in Darchula of far-western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the fresh earthquake was recorded at 3:12 pm.
The epicentre of the tremor was close a location close to Indian border.
The tremor originated from a location with coordinates 29.83° N, 80.60°E, according to the NSC.
The last individual earthquake, and not aftershock of the April 25 earthquake, was recorded in Humla district on August 26.
Meanwhile, a light aftershock of the April 25 earthquake, was recorded in Sindhupalchok at around 4:39 pm today.
It was of local magnitude 4.6
Its epicentre was close to Ramche, with coordinates 27.77°N, 85.87°C.
With this, the number of significant aftershocks, of local magnitude 4.0 or above, has reached 397.
Last significant aftershock was recorded in Dhading on September 22. It was of local magnitude 4.5.
