Fresh invite for talks just farce, says Yadav

JANAKPURDHAM: Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav said the Prime Minister's letter to the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) was 'farcial'.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday evening had dispatched letters to agitating forces including the UDMF, inviting them for talks.

As the UDMF held talks with the government for two rounds and they did not produce any result, the fresh invitation was meaningless, he added, while talking to journalists in Janakpur today.

The Madhesi leader claimed that the government was irresponsible for talks as it did not clarify its position on the issues discussed in earlier rounds of talks.

Before that, the talks would be limited to exchanging greetings only, he added.

Yadav reiterated that talks were not possible until the government implemented eight- and 22-point agreements signed with the Madhesi political forces some years ago.
