Front drive on for its Jan 20 rally
Kathmandu, January 14:
The seven-party alliance today organised a door-to-door campaign in Constituency-4 of Kathmandu district.
Front leaders urged people to participate in the alliance’s January 20 rally in the capital and also asked them to boycott the municipal election scheduled for February 8.
According to a press statement issued by the Kathmandu district committee of the Nepali Congress, cadres of all the agitating parties distributed pamphlets and put up posters in the constituency requesting the people to participate in the rally. The campaign was led by Bhimsen Das Pradhan of the Nepali Congress and Yogesh Bhattarai of the CPN-UML.
Meanwhile, alliance leaders of the Kathmandu Constituency-6 region also held a meeting with a view to making the January 20 show of strength as well as anti-election campaign more effective and systematic.
The meeting also decided to write graffiti on the walls, distribute posters and pamphlets and launch a door-to-door campaign in the constituency.
A task force of the alliance’s central people’s movement coordination committee had decided to launch a series of programmes in all the 12 constituencies of the Kathmandu Valley.
The Front aim is to mobilise more than three lakh people on the streets on January 20.
