KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

The government is all set to administer the booster dose against coronavirus from tomorrow.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the booster dose will be given to frontline workers and all the senior citizens above 60 as well as those completing six months after receiving full dose vaccine from January 28.

The ministry has directed the province health directorate, province health supply management centre and all 77 health offices to administer the booster dose.

Assistant Spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the booster dose will be provided to the people who completed six months after full inoculation, frontline workers and senior citizens above 60 and those having weak immunity power.

Those having weak immunity power refers to the patients with active cancer, patients who have undergone organ transplant surgery, people living with HIV and those having medicines.

With the rapid spread of the new variant of coronavirus, the government is all set to launch booster dose campaign.

The COVID-19 vaccine advisory committee had already suggested that the government administer booster dose of the vaccine.
