Fuel crisis puts ambulance services on verge of closure

PARASI: Ambulance services have been affected in Nawalparasi district as the fuel crisis continues unabated.

The ambulance services operated in the district are on the verge of closure due to insufficient fuel supplies as the unofficial blockade by India continues for nearly three months.

Each ambulance is given 30 to 40 litres of diesel on a weekly basis, but that is too little to effectively provide services to the needy, ambulance service providers said.

More than 50 ambulances are providing services in the district.
