Fugitive convicted of bank fraud lands into police net

RATNANAGAR: A person, who was at large after being convicted of banking fraud, has been arrested by police from Chitwan.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at Chitwan, Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, today informed that Bimal Khadka (34) of Kathmandu was arrested from Gondrang of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-9. A joint team of Chitwan police and the Central Investigation Bureau arrested him.

Appellate Court, Patan, had on September 17, 2014 punished Khadka with three years of imprisonment and Rs 57.7 million fine.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Amrit Gurung and CJ Lama of Bharatpur, Chitwan, who had been absconding after attacking Sanjay Karki of Bharatpur while playing football. He was arrested from Neebarahi, Kathmandu.

Investigation into the case has been forwarded to Chitwan.
