KHOTANG: Convict Dal Bahadur Giri, 68, of Eishelukharka was held on Sunday. He had absconded after a woman died when he was aborting a foetus 20 years ago in the district.

According to DSP Bidhyananda Majhi, Giri was accused of helping a woman abort her foetus in 1995 and he had absconded after district court gave a verdict of six-month detention in 1998. Meanwhile, rape accused Tek Bahadur Tamang, 26, of Eiselukharka was arrested after five years in the district on Monday.

He was accused of raping a 35-year-old woman of the locality. The District court had sentenced him to nine years and 10 months imprisonment.
