‘Gautam must quit’

BIRGUNJ: Laxman Lal Karna, lawmaker and Vice-chairman of Sadbhawana Party Nepal, on Thursday warned that Madhesi forces would not sit for dialogue with the government until Home Minister Bamdev Gautam resigns from his portfolio and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala apologises to them. “The possibility of dialogue will be there only after the Home minister, who gave order to shoot Madhesi denizens who were demonstrating in a peaceful agitation for their rights, tenders his resignation,” argued Karna.  Speaking at a function organised by United Democratic Madhesi Front at Buhawari of Parsa on Thursday, Karna ruled out the possibility of negotiation until Gautam resigns. He argued that the government was trying to suppress its own citizens by mobilising the army.
