Gautam trains his gun on Tarai districts

Pathlaiya, December 9:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bam Dev Gautam arrived at the Armed Police Force’s Rudra Brigade here today to learn about the security situation in the Tarai.

Gautam, who was flown by a Nepal Army chopper here, met with five district security chiefs in the central region, a source said.

Security chiefs of Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Chitwan and Makawanpur districts reportedly met Gautam. During the meeting, DPM Gautam is said to have talked about the displaced policemen, measures to tighten security on the entry points in Bara and Rautahat districts along the Nepal-India border and beefing up security in the region.

He returned to Kathmandu the same day after six hours of discussion. Mediapersons were not allowed to attend the meeting.
