The CPN-UML has decided to hold the meeting of the general convention organising committee on June 30.
"The standing committee meeting of the party held at the Prime Minister's residence today also decided to hold a meeting on the same day to discuss the latest political development, the case sub judice at the Supreme Court on the dissolution of Parliament and lingering disputes in the organising committee of the 10th general convention of the party," according to party Spokesperson Pradip Gyawali.
The UML had formed the general convention organising committee on March 12. Efforts are under way to continue dialogue and forge unity with the faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Talks with the faction led by Nepal were stalled after some lawmakers close to him signed for the proposal to appoint the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister.
