Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai has said that the government is committed to the overall development and protection of children's rights.
In an interaction on 'Role of Stakeholders in Protection of Children's Rights' held today at Devchuli in Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta Purba), Minister Bhattarai said that since quality education is necessary to establish rights, homework has been started for the full implementation of free education on behalf of the State.
"We will work together with the local government, schools and the community for ensuring the quality and nutrition of the midday meals served in schools," she said. "To make the midday meals well-organized with quality ingredients, well understanding among all is needed," Minister Bhattarai added. She further opined to use local products while preparing the tiffin in the schools.
"Government will work to prevent deprivation of school education due to lack of sanitary pads," Minister Bhattarai said.
The programme was attended by Parvata Tiwari, deputy mayor of Devchuli Municipality, Tilottam Paudel, chair of Jagriti Bal and Yuva Sarokar Nepal, more than 30 local women representatives of 10 districts of Gandaki province, mayors, deputy mayors, rural municipality chairs, vice chairs, executive members and other stakeholders.
